Shortcut to Darners (Aeshnidae) 15 species have been documented in Jalisco. Darners have eyes that touch broadly and patterned abdomens. They seldom perch, but when they do, they hang perch on vegetation.

Clubtails (Gomphidae)
- 19 species have been documented in Jalisco.
Clubtails have widely separated eyes, clear wings, and often a clubbed abdomen. The males usually perch on rocks and sandbars. Most are found on moving water.
