These are images taken by Paul Johnson of a Walker's darner female ovipositing at the base of a clump of sedges(?). The sedges were out of the water or at the edge of the water at the time, but would be inundated or nearly so during spring flows most years.
Paul took the digital photos in San Benito County, at Laguna Creek on Sept. 9, 2005.
