Cardinal Meadowhawk, Sympetrum illotum male

These are scans of a male Cardinal Meadowhawk that fell, dead, out of a tree into our Bigsnest Wildlife Pond, Sebastopol, Sonoma Co., CA on May 7, 2006. A female also fell out of a nearby tree that day (her scan linked to also) - a weird day!
