Pachydiplax longipennis, Blue Dasher male

These are photos and scans of a teneral male Blue Dasher that emerged from Bigsnest Pond in Sebastopol,CA, but was unable to fly.
I had gone out to weed that morning, and yikes, I almost pulled out a weed with a newly emerged (teneral) Blue Dasher (our foy). ..but something was amiss, he couldn't fly nor did he pose naturally...something was wrong for sure.



After hours of observing it, I reluctantly decided it would go into my small collection (which is willed to Sonoma State University).
